Education
Dr. Sullivan graduated in 2002 with her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Multicultural Studies from the Adler School of Professional Psychology, in Chicago. She received her Masters in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Art Therapy in October 1994, from the Adler School.
Qualification Highlights
Dr. Sullivan is proficient in American Sign Language and Deaf Culture. She has traveled extensively, giving her a broad based experience with diverse populations, diagnoses and treatments. She has received specialized training in Emergency / Disaster Response, Multiculturalism, Rehabilitation and Addictions. In addition she utilizes Art & Drama Therapies, Relaxation & Imagery, Behavior Analysis and Aggression Management. Dr. Sullivan is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and a Washington State Registered Counselor with Red Cross Disaster Response training specialized for Deaf and Hard of hearing.
Clinical Experience
Prior to establishing her private practice in Everett, Dr. Sullivan had worked as an Assessment Psychologist at the Mental Health Center at Gallaudet University, in Washington, D.C. where she provided therapy and conducted assessment batteries to diagnose ADHD, learning and emotional and mental disorders. She was an appointed member to the President's Staff Advosory Committee and served on the Advisory and Learning Disabilities Forum.
Dr. Sullivan completed her clinical training requirements at Provena St. Therese Medical Center in the Behavioral Medicine Department in Waukegan, Il. There, she counseled individuals and families, and provided treatment to both adults and children on the inpatient units. She served a full year rotation as a mobile crisis evaluator in the emergency room and provided assessment, diagnosis and consultation to doctors about treatment recommedations for patients. She led inpatient groups and Life Skills Training to community members on stress, relaxation training and wellness.
Previous clinical experience has included outpatient therapy for dually diagnosed clients, those struggling with addictions and or coming from a dysfunctional family system, as well as psychological testing and conducting forensic diagnostic assessments to determine fitness to stand trial, sanity and Miranda rights on serious criminal offenders.
Group Activities
Dr. Sullivan is currently involved in leading a group for those struggling with anxiety, depression and codependency issues.
